URI gardens, and gardeners, offer sweet scents, too (uri.edu) — URI’s Kingston campus is inviting residents to explore its fragrant side, from the Horridge Conservatory’s orchids and gingers to the Youngken Medicinal Garden’s 300 healing plants. Tours of the medicinal garden are free year-round by email request, and the conservatory on Greenhouse Road is open weekdays, giving Kingston-area visitors easy, ongoing access to these sensory-rich green spaces.

2. Part-Time Faculty, Sociology (uri.edu) — URI’s Sociology & Anthropology Department is hiring part-time instructors to teach introductory sociology and sociology of the family in person on the Kingston campus for Fall 2026. Applicants need at least a master’s in sociology and must hold office hours and support undergraduates. The position runs through December 22, 2026, with applications accepted online.
