The Maher Center is going to benefit from the many ideas that Bill has for the future of the agency.  Bill’s approach will be to think outside of the box and approach everything in a different way than has been in the past.  This will include reviewing every program within the agency, making the necessary changes needed to always ensure that the client comes first.  Following this client based approach, will ensure that the agency fulfills its mission to the individuals we serve.  “This is an opportunity for the James L. Maher Center to again blaze the trail for individuals with developmental disabilities.  We are certain that Bill will continue what our founding families envisioned 60 years ago,” stated Board of Director President, Walter Jachna.

The James L. Maher Center is a Newport based not-for-profit dedicated to providing various daily services to nearly 300 individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Some of these individuals participate in work programs; over 100 receive residential services; almost 90 children benefit from early intervention and literally thousands of people in the East Bay area reach their destinations because of RIde transportation services.
