St. Columba’s Chapel in Middletown, Rhode Island announces the next concert in The St. Columba’s Concert Series, featuring The Narragansett Bay Chorus (NBC), in an entertaining program of a cappella choral music in the barbershop style, on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 3 pm.

NBC, a perennial favorite at St. Columba’s for the past 13 years, consists of 33 male singers from around Rhode Island and Massachusetts who perform a broad range of popular and traditional songs, show tunes and even gospel music.

Over the years the NBC has appeared all over Rhode Island and Massachusetts, throughout most of New England, and as far afield as California and England. Later in October, they will perform in Montreal, Canada.

Officially known as the Providence Chapter of the Patriot Division of the Northeastern District of the Barbershop Harmony Society of America, the Chorus competes regularly in both the US and Canada. In April 2026 they placed first in their category at the Patriot Division competition in Marlborough, MA. In their 70+ year history, they have won the Northeastern District (NED) chorus competition 15 times.

Also scheduled to appear on the show are three outstanding and entertaining quartets. Trade Secret has won the NED Seniors Championship and medaled at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s international competition. Nantucket Sound won the Novice Quartet Championship for the NED Patriot Division in 2024. The Wonderlanders Is a new quartet within the chapter.

This concert will be held in the Chapel’s Parish Hall at 3:00pm and will be followed by a reception, giving guests an opportunity to meet the performers. Admission for the concert will be $20.00 ($10.00 for students), payable (by cash, check or credit card) at the door. Tickets are also available in advance of the day from St. Columba’s Parish Office at (401) 847-5571 or through chorus members. No reservations are required.
