Police Log: Cyberstalking Teen, DUI, Couple Charged after Smashing Each Other's Electronics
The following arrests were reported by Middletown police. They do not indicate a conviction.

DOMESTICS
Police charged Thomas H. Wilson, 26, of 56 Chapel Terrace, Newport, with violating a domestic no contact order Aug. 20 at 12:10 a.m.
Police charged Lewis Joseph Marshall, 40, of 106 Aquidneck Ave., Middletown, with domestic vandalism Aug. 18 after he allegedly broke a window at a town residence.
Police said the incident occurred on Aug. 16. Marshall allegedly punched a window, breaking it, threw a grill off a table and ripped three screens. He turned himself into police two days later.

Police charged Alix Appel, 52, of 296 Chases Lane, Middletown, with domestic vandalism Aug. 17 after she allegedly smashed an Xbox belonging to George M. Toppa, 40, of the same address, who was also charged with domestic vandalism after he allegedly smashed her iPhone in retaliation.
Police said the two were arguing outside the house and it escalated, eventually moving into the house where the smashings occurred.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
CYBERSTALKING
Police charged a 16-year-old Middletown boy with cyberstalking Aug. 18 after he allegedly sent harassing text messages to a 19-year-old Middletown man.
Police said the boy used an app on his phone to send hundreds of spam messages to the victim.
DUI
Police charged Robert S. Stankevich, 38, of 5 Bonnie Crest Gardens, Newport, with driving under the influence Aug. 19 at 1:21 a.m.
Police said an officer at a fixed traffic post on East Main Road saw Stankevich drive by without a front license plate and his headlights turned off.
Once stopped, Stankevich reportedly smelled like alcohol and showed signs of being drunk.
He later failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody without incident.
In addition to the DUI charge, police cited Stankevich for refusing a chemical test, a license plate violation and driving a car with a cancelled registration.
