Potter League Losing its New Executive Director
Connie Howard has been on the job seven weeks, but she has submitted her resignation, due to family considerations.

MIDDLETOWN, RI—Connie Howard, executive director at Potter League for Animals, will leave her post after seven weeks on the job.
Gail Lawson, the Potter League's volunteer coordinator, sent a letter Wednesday to let the volunteers know Howard has submitted her resignation to the board of directors. According to the agreement, she will stay on temporarily as interim director. Her last day could be June 1, but "that will be determined by how quickly a replacement can be found," Lawson said.
Howard had left a post in Colorado as Pethealth Inc.'s vice-president for client services. Her husband and family stayed in Colorado, but the family had expected he would be able to work from his company's East Coast branch. When that plan failed to materialize, she made the decision to put family first.
