Rebecca Schiff concedes District 74 House race
Republican candidate thanks supporters, congratulates Rep. Deb Ruggiero following tight election results

I began this campaign on July 5th and never looked back. I spent countless hours walking the neighborhoods of the two beautiful towns. It has been an incredible experience, getting to know thousands of voters in Middletown and Jamestown.
It appears that with the absentee ballot count, my opponent received the majority: 3,375 to 3,149. While disappointing, I am proud and grateful for the tremendous support from the citizens of Middletown and Jamestown.
Over the past few months, we ran a spirited campaign. I thank the thousands of voters who warmly welcomed me into their homes to tell me about their concerns. To everyone who believed in this effort – the volunteers, the folks who have contributed, and to everyone that shown support – I want to thank you for all for your tremendous work and your faith in me throughout this hard-fought campaign.

I have called Deb Ruggiero and congratulated her on her victory. I hope she will be successful in fixing the many issues that face our great state.
I ran for office because I am concerned about Rhode Island. I saw the need for leadership and fresh ideas that set special interests aside and put the people first. This election is over, but the challenge to help our state is not. I believe in Rhode Island. I believe in the people of Rhode Island. Now that November 8th has come and gone, let’s come together and face the challenges ahead by demanding the accountability and open, clean, and honest government that we deserve.
