Volunteers Sought for Norman Bird Sanctuary's Harvest Days

The Norman Bird Sanctuary needs volunteers for its 42nd annual Harvest Fair on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2.

MIDDLETOWN, RI β€”A little birdie says the Norman Bird Sanctuary needs helpers, age 14 and up, to put on the Harvest Fair next weekend.

Some 13,000 people are expected to join in the fun on the grounds at 583 Third Beach Road, Middletown.

Volunteers can sell tickets, assist with children’s crafts and games or help in The Sanctuary CafΓ©. Besides the satisfaction of supporting the sanctuary's mission -- of preserving more than 300 acres of wildlife
habitat and hiking trails-- they'll receive a Harvest Fair tee-shirt and a free lunch from Pizza Hollywood.

The Harvest Fair is also a great venue to spread the word about a team, school, organization or company. Cover one volunteer area for one shift, and the sanctuary wants groups or teams to give themselves a plug by showing up in their logo hats or tee-shirts.
