2 Portable Toilets Blown Up In South County, $5k Reward Offered
The Rhode Island Bomb Squad is investigating the incidents, which happened in Westerly and Charlestown.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad is investigating a pair of unusual incidents in South County over the weekend. On Tuesday, the department posted a pair of photos showing two portable toilets that were blown up in Charlestown and Westerly on Saturday.
The two incidents happened within hours of each other, the first early Saturday morning and the other late that night.
According to the bomb squad, no one was injured and there is no reason to believe the incidents were connected to terrorist activity.

In both cases, an "explosive device" was used to blown up the toilets, completely destroying them.
The bomb squad is treating the investigations as arson, offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Confidential tips can be called into the bomb squad hotline at 401-383-7723.
