- A WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.
- LOCATIONS...THE SOUTH COASTS OF BOTH RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS INCLUDING CAPE COD.
- ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. CONFIDENCE IN SNOW AMOUNTS IS LOW ALONG THE SOUTH COAST...SINCE THERE MAY BE A TRANSITION TO RAIN OR ICE FOR A TIME.
- TIMING...STEADY SNOW DEVELOPS LATE TONIGHT. PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CONTINUE ON SUNDAY...POSSIBLY MIXING WITH RAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF CAPE COD. THE HEAVIEST SNOW LOOKS TO FALL SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY NIGHT...BUT THERE COULD BE A CHANGE TO A PERIOD OF SLEET...FREEZING RAIN OR PLAIN RAIN FOR A TIME.
- IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED DURING THIS LONG DURATION EVENT SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY NIGHT.
- WINDS...NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.
- TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 30S.
