5 Things: Careers, Luncheons And Athletics

1. Help SK's youngsters of today become the leaders of tomorrow. The South Kingstown High School Guidance Advisory Council will meet this at 7:30 p.m. in the School Guidance Office, located at 215 Columbia St., South Kingstown. 

The public is invited to help plan the major project for this school year, the 2012 Career Fair for SKHS Juniors.

2. The Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Presents - Lunch 'N' Learn.

Businesses and nonprofits will learn how to use newspaper resources, including the print edition, the paper’s Website, Facebook and Constant Contact. Today's Lunch 'n' Learn will give you at least three ideas to promote your business or nonprofit, as well as information on deadlines, formats and marketing plans.

This is a great opportunity for networking.  Be sure to bring plenty of business cards.

Tickets cost $15.

3. The Assessment Board of Review will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 180 High St., Wakefield. For the agenda, click here.

4. Looking for some action? Get your fix and support local high school athletics at one of today's games:

• The South Kingstown High School Girls' Varsity Basketball team will play against Cranston West High School at 7 p.m. today in the gymnasium, 215 Columbia St., South Kingstown. Junior varsity will play at 5:15 p.m.
• The South Kingstown Boys' Varsity Basketball team will play against Hope High School at 7 p.m. in an away game located at 324 Hope St., Providence.

5. Sunny skies will keep temperatures mild across South County again today. Highs will reach into the 40s. As clouds roll in during the evening, temperatures will dip into the 20s.
