Zone 4, covering more than 24,000 acres in Charlestown, Westerly and Hopkinton, was successfully sprayed overnight.
WESTERLY, RI — Aerial pesticide spraying is complete in all four targeted zones across Rhode Island, the Department of Environmental Management said Wednesday. At 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, spraying was finished over the southwestern corner of the state.
The plane, operated by Clarke, sprayed low concentrations of the pesticide Anvil 10+10 over 24,450 acres across parts of Westerly, Charlestown and Hopkinton.
Spraying was set to wrap up on Monday night, but was delayed in the final zone due to ground fog.
