Marie E. LaRocque

Marie E. LaRocque, 85, of South Kingstown, and formerly of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, March 28. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond W. LaRocque. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Beatrice (Lajoie) Messier. She was also predeceased by her brother Roland Messier, and sister, Loretta Donais.

Mrs. LaRocque was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed knitting, camping and golfing. After retiring, she and her late husband moved to Florida for 20 years, returning to Narragansett in 2005. She will be remembered as a loyal friend, great listener and teacher of many crafts, but most of all as a loving grandmother to Aimee, Ryan, Melanie, Jeffrey, Danielle and Renee, and great-grandmother to Andrew, Christopher, Sarah and Zoe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 6th at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of RI, South Team, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
