Apple Rehab Watch Hill Spruces Up for Spring
Apple Rehab Watch Hill, a branch of Apple Rehab Inc., renovates its nursing home facility in time for spring.

Apple Rehab, a nursing and rehabilitation facility nestled on five acres at picturesque Babcock Cove, recently renovated its Watch Hill location, 79 Watch Hill Road in Westerly, RI. “We have a new, fresh and updated look,” said Marikate Lynch, regional administrator. “We have brightened up the living spaces and given the facility more of a modern, home-like feel. The facility also features numerous large windows, an abundance of natural light and tranquil water views.”
Renovations include new flooring and paint throughout the residents’ living areas, vinyl tile in the hallways and new floors in the rooms on the long-term care resident wing. “I can’t believe what a difference the new flooring and a fresh coat of paint has made,” said resident Marguerite Greene. “The place looks brand new. Thank you for investing in our home.”
Apple Rehab Watch Hill blends superior programs and services with an environment of beautiful surroundings and plentiful amenities. It offers physical therapy, such as mobility retraining, balance restoration, therapeutic exercises, physical conditioning, neuromuscular re-training and the Big & Loud program, a physical therapy program designed specifically for patients with Parkinson’s disease; occupational therapy, including splinting, activities of daily living, rehabilitative dining and meal prep assessment and training; and speech language pathology, such as swallowing evaluations, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques and cognitive and memory retention programs.

In honor of Mother’s Day on May 14, Apple Rehab Watch Hill hosted a Mother’s Day tea on May 12. “We celebrated Mother’s Day early, and honored all of the mothers in the facility,” concluded Lynch. “The residents were feted with fancy desserts, flowers and a variety of different teas.”
