A ham radio licensing class is now forming in Wakefield at the Msgr Clarke School and will run Thursday's 6PM beginning April 7 through the end of May. Each of the six classes will run two hours and will fully prepare you to pass the 35 question, multiple choice exam for the FCC's Amateur Radio Technician Class license. At the seventh class, you will take the test. (No Morse Code needed). If you are interested in talking through satellites, talking to the International Space Station, operating outdoors, soldering, making communication devices, exploring the "Internet of Things," coding and using Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards to do interesting communication things, then this radio license is a great fit. If interested, contact North Kingstown-based instructor Bob Beatty -- WB4SON@gmail.com -- for details. Not sure about ham radio in the 21st Century?
