Burlingame Campground Reopens Following Tropical Storm Henri
Phone lines at Burlingame, East Beach, and Charlestown Breachway Campgrounds are still down due to storm-related damage.

CHARLESTOWN, RI — More than a week after Tropical Storm Henri battered Rhode Island, Burlingame State Campground is back open to the public. The property was hit hard by the storm, which brought down about 150 trees.
Burlingame is one of the largest campgrounds in the eastern United States, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said, with 740 campsites in more than 3,100 acres.
During the closure, DEM employees cleaned up fallen trees and checked campsites for fallen and leaning limbs caused by the storm. Due to ongoing service issues caused by the storm, the phone lines are still down at the property, along with East Beach and Charlestown Breachway campgrounds.
