Candlelight Walk will support new Narragansett Library

The Friends of the Narragansett Library invite the public to join in a Candlelight Walk to the Town Council meeting, Monday, January 7. The walk is planned to show community support for the new library building and to call for the council to move forward with the library project. Walkers are asked to meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, 35 Kingstown Road. The procession will march from the library to the Town Hall, 25 Fifth Ave., where the Town Council will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Those who cannot walk can join the walkers at Town Hall at 7 p.m. At 7:15, the group will enter Town Hall for the Council meeting.

Participants are asked to bring a battery-operated candle. The Friends of the Library will have glow and light sticks for children who attend. All are invited to join the Friends of the Library and the community to show support for the new library.
