Just like the rows of sun-dappled daffodils, waving in welcome, outside the historic General Stanton Inn, at 4115 Old Post Road, another sure sign of Spring, is the annual return of the outdoor, weekend, Flea Market to its spacious grounds.

A salute of Antiques and Flea Market flags along its' back fence, bordering Rte 1, and a large, white-painted, wooden sign in its' front yard, herald the 52nd, 2017 Season of The General Stanton Inn Flea Market, open every weekend, now through October 9.

"I went outside and put that sign up, myself, several weeks ago," remarks General Stanton Inn and Flea Market owner, Janice Falcone, who is about to celebrate her 86th birthday this May.

"The Flea Market's open here every Sunday now-- from 8 a.m.-3 p.m--, through Memorial Day Weekend. Then the expanded, "Full Season" starts. From Saturday, May 27, through Columbus Day, Monday, October 9, our Flea Market flags will be flying every Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Monday, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m..

And 'early birds' are always welcome here."

Vendors are invited to contact Janice Falcone at The General Stanton Inn, to reserve spaces to sell antiques, vintage goods, collectibles, crafts, art, new merchandise and Farmers' Market items. Food and drink merchants are also invited to contact Mrs. Falcone about space availability and fees.

10 x 20-feet sales spaces, are available for rent by merchandise vendors every weekend, at rates ranging from $25.-$35 per day, depending on location and date. Vendors are required to supply their own tables and chairs and are asked to bring clean, clearly-priced merchandise to sell.

Hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors, take part in The General Stanton Flea Market each year, on the 7-acre, tree-lined grounds, of the historic Inn, which was established in 1667.

Rooms at The General Stanton Inn are also available for rent by visitors and vendors, who might be travelling from a distance.

"As schools close for the year and area cottages open for the Season, that's when our General Stanton Inn Flea Market really goes into high gear--both vendor and visitor-wise," says Mrs. Falcone.

"And since we're so close to the water here in Charlestown, we've become known over the years for specializing in nautical antiques and collectibles. We're happy to have that angle for all the anglers out there," she quips.

Flea Market admission is free for visitors. There's a parking fee of $2. per car, which is charged on Sundays only.

Vendors--and visitors--can get more information about the 2017 Season now-in-progress, at The General Stanton Inn Flea Market, by contacting Janice Falcone: 401-364-1818 or401-364-8888/ www.generaljosephstantoninn.co...
