Watch Boat Sinking After Collision Off Block Island
A yacht and a lobster boat collided this morning.
NARRAGANSETT, RI — A yacht is
sinking after a collision with a lobster boat this morning off Block Island, according to the Coast Guard.
The accident happened about 10 miles east of Block Island, Rhode Island.

"The captain of the 40-foot lobster boat, Squeeze Play, used a VHF radio to contact Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England watchstanders" and report the accident, the Coast Guard said.
The lobster boat, Squeeze Play collided with the yacht, Lucia.

No one was injured, the Coast Guard said.
Per reports, the Squeeze Play crew comprised two, while four people were aboard the Lucia, which was damaged with a hole in the bow.
The lobster boat crew helped the people off the yacht and into the Squeeze Play.
"Station Cape Cod launched a MH-60 Jayhawk air crew," the Coast Guard also said.
"After arriving on scene, the boat crew from Station Point Judith transferred the crew members from Lucia to the 45-foot response boat and are bringing them back to port. The Squeeze Play is returning to port as well."
