Coronavirus In RI: Programs Canceled In South Kingstown

Programming at libraries, the rec center, neighborhood guild and senior center has largely been suspended, canceled or postponed.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Several events in the town of South Kingstown have been postponed or canceled amid concerns about the spread of the new coronavirus in Rhode Island. Out of an abundance of caution, the town is putting off events through March 27 at the library, senior center, neighborhood guild and recreation center.

Anyone over the age of 60 or anyone who is not feeling well is encouraged to stay home and practice social distancing when out in public, staying six feet away from others.

"Because of the evolving nature of this ongoing community health situation, the Town may implement additional mitigation measures with short notice, and the information provided below is subject to change," the town said in a statement. "Thank you for your cooperation and understanding."
