NARRAGANSETT, RI – The Dunes Club, an exclusive private beach club, remains closed on Tuesday after 10 employees recently tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic, town officials announced Monday night.

Town Manager James Tierney announced the closure Monday night at a virtual town council meeting and indicated it is not clear how the outbreak occurred, but according to a published report, a recent lifeguard event at the club may be at the cause.

Tierney said that the club, which is located at 137 Boston Neck Road, will undergo a deep cleaning on Tuesday and that testing for the coronavirus will continue among employees.
