Embracing Each Others Differences...

Jesus has called upon us, to 'love our neighbors as ourselves', a practice, which, by the look of things, 'world-wide' is NOT being implemented, over all. Within our own, society, hatred, bigotry, prejudice, and, discrimination, STILL, exist; to such a degree, that, television commercials, highlighting 'highly-recognizable' people of celebrity-status, 'imploring' of us to accept ALL, peoples, regardless, their, differences, are being broadcast, in an appeal, not unlike Jesus'. Whatever works, I guess. Whether we choose to follow in the footsteps of Christ, or, accept the message(s) offered us, by way of the media, it's all the same...it's about ACCEPTANCE, and, love of others. The, mere, fact, that, there is such an, abundance of extreme feelings of 'dislike', based on 'difference', circulating the globe, bringing about brutal-behavior(s), such as harassment and 'bullying', is 'disheartening' to say the least; with, this, fact, bringing with it the NEED for such broad-based 'request' for support and 'sympathy' for 'the cause'. it seems to me, that, on a 'large-scale' in our, society, at least, God is being 'asked' in a multitude of ways, to 'leave the building', so to speak. He is, seemingly, not 'welcomed' anywhere, but in a 'place of worship'; and, statistics show, that, churches, all over, especially, Catholic-based, are losing support, as people are attending masses, now, in reduced number, over all, as some, religions have 'lost-favor' with their 'flock' due to some, 'teachings' and, occurrences, within the 'church'-proper. Certainly, people can choose to be 'good' without the presence of God in their lives; for, simply, acknowledging what's 'right or wrong' and making choices based on this awareness, along with following the 'Golden Rule' of treating others in the manner you wish to be treated, can make all the difference. Yet, when one invites The Lord into his or her life, for all the right reasons, one may be a bit, more, 'wary' of his or her behavior(s); this, not because he/she is afeared of their, chosen God, but, because he/she wishes to please Him. Whichever, words you opt to pay-attention to...those of Christ, or, those of some, 'popularly-famous', contrived to communicate a similar, message, the 'end-result' will be the same; and, perhaps, some day, there WON'T exist a NEED for these, 'ads' asking us to accept one another. Just Sayin'...
