1st Annual Waterman Eco-Challenege

     Environmental Awareness Day

WHAT: 1^st annual Waterman Eco-Challenge— The day’s festivities will provide a platform to raise awareness to ocean and sun safety. Events include: 3 Mile Open Ocean Paddle, Stand Up Paddle Board Clinic, Interactive Ocean and Sun Safety Tents and a Professional Rescue Clinic for Narragansett Surf Rescue. Extreme Surfing World Champion, Garrett McNamara and Hawaiian Lifesavers will host the Professional Rescue Clinic and meet fans at Warm Winds at 5pm. This will be the first time the WaveJet, Eco Friendly Jet Powered Rescue Board will be on display and integrated into lifesaving. Garrett McNamara is passionate about his work, “The ocean is my church and my playground. Bringing our expertise to train such an accomplished lifesaving team as Gansett in PWC rescue and now with our amazing WaveJet, it will be fun and rewarding for us all.” says McNamara. Brian Guadagno, Senior Lifeguard Captain at Narragansett Town Beach worked with Narragansett Parks and Recreation to create this event.  PROCEEDS:  A donation will be made to the Narragansett Surf Rescue Junior Lifeguard Program.
