Can you sing the “Star Spangled Banner”??? If so, the South Kingstown Parks & Recreation Department would love for you to do so on July 4th!

The Town of South Kingstown is pleased to present its annual Independence Day celebration at Old Mountain Field on July 4th. For the past several years, we have had a young singer perform the National Anthem just prior to the 9:00 p.m. fireworks display. We are excited to announce we will be doing this again this year.
One winner will be selected. The winner will perform the “Star Spangled Banner” during the welcoming remarks just prior to the 9:00pm firework display. We are looking for a soloist, a duet, a trio or a quartet. The performance will be sung A Cappella.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 2:15pm at the Neighborhood Guild, 325 Columbia Street, Peace Dale. Audition criteria is as follows:
-Open to South Kingstown residents only.

-Open to students in grades 6 through 12.
-Audition is open to soloist, duets, trios and quartets. Note; all participants must meet criteria #1 and #2.
-Must be available to perform on both July 4th and July 5th (rain date).
-All participants should be prepared to sing the “Star Spangled Banner”. The song will be sung A Cappella.
-The winner will be announced by phone call no later than June 14th.
-The decision of the audition committee is final.
