Jonah Smith CD Release party

JONAH SMITH returns to the Knick to celebrate the his upcoming new CD, "Little Known Cure."  Well known as a top-flight New York songwriter and a powerful, expressive singer, Jonah has begun building a New England audience which is getting bigger and bigger with every appearance in the area. The Knickerbocker has seen the Rhode Island fan base increase in particular each time he returns.  His swing through the Northeast precedes a tour in Spain in late August.

One new song getting some attention, "Big Box Town" was inspired by the question, did the stores from big box chains bury the family- owned businesses or did they create the town itself? With a family owned paint store in Syracuse in his heritage– which closed due to competition from those stores – Jonah performed in the very building where the paint store was, which ironically now houses a music venue.  For press on the song:  http://jonahsmith.com/press/

Last year, Jonah made his first music video prompted by a New York Times article he read in October about the Occupy Wall Street Movement's lack of an anthem.  He was inspired to finish an incomplete song called "Live One" following that with a music video filmed in the midst of the OWS encampment in New York on Oct 24th. The video is posted at jonahsmith.com

Jonah's star has been rising consistently for the past few years.  His music has met with rave reviews and has been featured on Good Morning America and FX's Terriers to name a couple. Elmore Magazine said about Jonah, Got lyrics? Smith has some of the best heard in a long time, and a full feature on Jonah appeared in Huffington Post.
