Pounding the Pavement for Peace 5K Road Race

Courthouse Center for the Arts and the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County (DVRSC) are collaborating again on Pounding the Pavement for Peace 5K run Sunday, March 27 at 9 a.m.

“We’re really excited to have our annual Pounding the Pavement for Peace,” said Garrie Borden, DVRSC public relations director. “It’s a great way to raise awareness about domestic violence issues and to raise funds to help us provide our free services to residents of South County.”

Entry fee for racers is $20 in advance, $25 on race day. Online registration is available at https://registration.strands.com/ until March 24.

Cash awards of $100, $75 and $50 will be presented to the top three men and women overall, and ribbons presented to the top three in each of the six age divisions.

Race packet pickup is at the Courthouse Center for the Arts, 3481 Kingstown Road, West Kingston, RI.  The official race start is at the intersection of Route 138 and Plains Road. The race loop will run through the URI Campus and end at the Courthouse Center for the Arts.

All runners receive a t-shirt and bottled water.  The first 100 registrants receive a “swag bag.”  Coffee and breakfast will be available for all runners after the race indoors at the Courthouse Center for the Arts.
