Summer Band at Broad Rock Middle School

South Kingstown Parks and Recreation proudly presents:

SUMMER BAND at Broad Rock Middle School

Directed by Mary Beth Florenz and Jen Collins, music teachers

Please note: though you must register through the Guild, Summer Band is held at Broad Rock Middle School. Forms are now out at the Guild and you may register, this registration should be done in person as there is a form that needs to be filled out for the teachers.

 Overview:

Beginning Summer Band: For children entering 6th grade in Sept. (or with one year playing experience) will learn how to play in Middle School Band! Play fun music, rounds, blue, light pop and show tunes!

Beginning Jazz Band: For those entering 7th and 8th grades in Sept. and are new to Jazz.

Middle School Stage Band: For those entering 7th, 8th and 9th grades in Sept.. Come have fun, play your intrument to pops and show tunes!

Middle School Jazz Band: For students with prior jazz experience. For those entering 8th and 9th grade (those entering 7th grade will need approval from director.)

The forms have the type of instruments for each band, so please call us at: 789-9301 and we can mail you a form, or stop by the Guild and pick one up in the lobby.

Please note: In order to enroll in Jazz Bands, child must also be enrolled in either 1st year Summer Band or Middle School Stage Band. Jazz band in not a "stand-alone" enrollment.

Prices:

1st year and Middle School Stage Bands $59 R $69 NR

Jazz Bands: $32 R $37 NR

*Certain instruments must have approval from either Ms. Florenz or Ms. Collins (please see form)

Dates and Times: Please see flyer for dates, starts on June 27th, each band has its own practice time.

Beg. Summer Band: 5:00-6:00pm

Beg. Jazz Band: 6:00-6:45pm

MS Stage Band: 7:00-8:00pm

MS Jazz Band: 8:15-9:00pm
