The Who’s Tommy provides a nostalgic trip back for anyone who grew up in the 1970s. Platform shoes and pinball machines take center stage June 2-19 in this classic rock opera at the Courthouse Center for the Arts. Sponsored by P. Schurman Contractors.
Based on the 1969 rock opera album by The Who, Tommy tells the story of a traumatized young boy who is deaf, dumb and blind. As his desperate parents try to find a cure, Tommy is abused by an uncle and cousin. Eventually, Tommy discovers his talent for pinball and quickly becomes a local celebrity.
