SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — South Kingstown police will team up with the U.S. Justice Department to educate residents to make the town more inclusive for everyone.

Federal and local officials will host the United Against Hate Workshop at the Prout School on May 31 for a discussion on preventing bias and hate. Police said the workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Learn how to identify hate crimes and incidents
  • Understand the importance of reporting
  • Discuss strategies to prevent acts of hate.

The free event is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Prout School is located at 4640 Tower Hill Road in Wakefield.
