GFWC Women's Club Of South County Awards Grants
Grow Hope Grants Support The Arts, Conservation, Education, And Social Services
The GFWC Women’s Club of South County [WCSC] awarded more than $25,000 to twenty-eight nonprofits of South County at its annual holiday luncheon held December 4. “Grow Hope Grants provide support to those organizations that aspire to make a positive difference within our community,” said Sandra Coletta the club’s president. The organizations that benefit from the grants range from those that assist animals, provide for the homeless, strive against domestic violence, help veterans, benefit school children, and encourage conservation.
The funds were raised through the club's annual Book & Author Luncheon held in July. “While the funds we provide are modest, they are often the catalyst needed for the recipients to continue or expand their important work in the areas of the arts, conservation, education, and social services,” added Coletta. Individual grants range in dollar amount.
In order to be eligible to receive a grant, a local organization must have 501(c)(3) status and work towards improving the lives of those living in southern Rhode Island through the arts, education, conservation, and social services.
