Heavy Downpours, Severe Thunderstorms Possible In Rhode Island
Isolated severe weather is possible in the Ocean State, ahead of heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Ida later in the week.

More rain is on the way to Rhode Island Monday, with the chance for severe weather in the afternoon and evening hours.
All of the state is under a "marginal" risk of severe storms from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Isolated thunderstorms could bring heavy downpours and localized flooding, as well as damaging wind gusts.

Later in the week, Rhode Island is expected to get hit by the remnants of Hurricane Ida, bringing as much as 6 inches of rain to the state Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
