Highway Safety Champions Named
Seven civilians also were honored with 25 police officers.
NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI - From The Rhode Island Police Chief's Association: The Rhode Island Department of Transportation – Office on Highway Safety (RIDOT-OHS) today announced the recipients of the 2018 Highway Safety Champion Awards. The Awards recognized law enforcement officers for their outstanding performance in carrying out speed, occupant-protection, and alcohol-impaired enforcement activities in 2017. These safety campaigns were sponsored by Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s Office on Highway Safety.
WHAT: Rhode Island Department of Transportation, Office on Highway Safety recognizes 25 law enforcement officers from across Rhode Island at the 2018 Highway Safety Champion Award event. Additionally, Chief Edward A. Mello of the Jamestown Police and the Warwick Police Department received special awards. Seven (7) civilians received achievement awards.
