Surf's Up: Hurricane Gert Bringing Big Waves, Rip Currents

NARRAGANSETT, RI—The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a high surf advisory for the entire Rhode Island south coast and Block Island for Wednesday. It will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and impacts south-facing beaches here and on the Cape and the islands. High surf and dangerous rip currents pose a risk for anyone in the water or standing too close to the surf while trying to see the waves.
