I BELIEVE!

     Late, last night, while walking the pooch, I encountered, two, State Police officers, who were out, scouring the area, looking for a 76 YO man, with dementia, who, earlier in the day had wandered away from his home, up the road from where I live. They stopped to alert me to this fact, of which, to that point, I was unaware. Upon learning this, news, the first thing I felt was, great, sadness; for, to imagine an elderly, and, 'lost' gentleman, trying to work his way home in the pitch-blackness, that occurs, where we reside, was heart-wrenching for me; The idea of this, poor-soul, floundering around in the night, unsure as to where he was, just, caused me pain. Heck, I go walking, at night, with a dog, AND a flashlight, and, it can, STILL, be a bit, unnerving, as there exist all manner of wild, 'critters', in these, parts, not the least of which are coyotes and Fisher Cats; Yet, regardless of this, it was, simply, sad to think of him alone and afraid. I told the officers, that, yes...of course I would 'keep an eye out' for this person, and, once they left me, I said some prayers for him; for, I believe in the power of prayer...I truly, do. I have learned, this AM, that, this man was 'found'. I do not know what 'state' he is in, for the news-article did not go into great, detail, other than to say that the 'Silver-Alert' had been cancelled, due to the discovery of the gentleman. Since learning of this, news, I have thanked my Higher-Power, for the fact, that, the man was found, and, prayed, once, again, in the hope that he is Ok. Naturally, I can not know, for sure, whether or not my prayers assisted in this endeavor; however, I choose to believe, that, they did. I am, certain, that, I was not the only one praying for him; so, it was the 'combined-effort' of ALL the prayers, that, were sent out into the Universe, on his behalf, that did it; and...Amen, to that! Just Sayin'...
