It's ONLY A Number!

     Twenty-nine years ago, today, when I gave birth to my favorite, eldest-son, my life changed FOREVER. This, MAJOR, life-event, occurred, and, I NEVER looked back. That same, year, I was to turn THIRTY...YIKES... this, a birthday, which, frequently, finds those approaching it to feel 'old, and, a bit, depressed. Not me, though; for, I could not have been happier, as I had a new-babe, and, a brand-new life to live, being a Momma. As a matter of fact, truth be told, I, honestly, have never been 'put-out' or turned-off by a birthday...not a one. Turning 40...then, 50...and, SOON to be 60, has never been a thing to 'rock my world'. Quite, to the contrary, I feel blessed to continue enjoying birthdays, and, pray, that, I will have many, MANY, more, as 'old-age' is a thing not all of us are lucky to experience. Certainly, today, I don't consider myself old, simply, 'older'; yet, by some, 'standards', I am recognized as a 'Senior-Citizen', and, this, 'tickles' me. Rather than having this, reality, become a thing that 'flusters' me, I find myself feeling, fantastically-fortunate; and, if I am given the 'gift' of longevity, as were both my Grandmothers, I will live well into my 90's. Mom is, already, an octogenarian, just, into her 82nd year, so, it seems, at least from a genetic-standpoint, I have a good-chance. The aging-process effects us all, very, differently, and, some do, indeed, have some difficulty with it. My, newly-turned, 29 year old declared, that, he was, already, kinda 'dreading' his, next-year's birthday, as it will be his 30th. I'm not suggesting, that, he become a parent, as did I, within that 'time-frame', just to give him something, WONDERFUL, to detract from that, BIG-b'day; but...a Grandchild WOULD, in fact, be, quite, welcome, and...SOON, cause... I AIN'T gettin' ANY, younger! Just Sayin'...
