It's The Simple Things...

Mere moments, after tethering my pooch to her outdoor run, and, coming indoors, to indulge in my first of many cups of 'joe', this, AM, upon sitting in my favorite -seat, with a view out my front-window, I noticed some movement in the tall-greenery surrounding my property. Upon closer inspection, I discovered this to be from a Mama Doe and her, single, still-spotted, 'yearling' who were scouting -out some breakfast. I know that deer are about, as I, often, see 'telltale' signs of them; yet, it has been awhile since I've seen any meandering about. I know that I'm a real-'softie', and, things of beauty can bring a 'tear to my eye', with this morning's sighting no exception; for after watching them for a few, minutes, my eyes welled-up. It's a funny thing, too, that, just before I opened my eyes from sleep, today, I had a 'dream' about my Dad, one where I was hugging him SO tight, that, I thought I'd break him in two; this, a thing I have desired doing for the past 23 years, since his departure from us; and, all the while he was in my grasp, one which felt SO, very, real, I cried... tears of sadness? joy? relief? I imagine a combination of all, these, emotions, and, too, perhaps, the knowing, that, this was only a temporary-experience, in this moment of my altered state of awareness. However, in all honesty, I believe, that, when we dream of loved ones who have predeceased us, we are, truly, experiencing their return to us. Regardless, this occurrence was 'momentous', and, when I saw the deer, parent and child, together on my homestead, it was a bit, overwhelming, for it conjured-up my memory of my 'visit' from my father. So far...it's been an 'eventful' day, and, one, terrific-start to my week; for, I have been reminded, by the Universe, through these, two, 'extraordinary'-experiences,that, 'the, very, BEST things in life are free'. Just Sayin'...
