Kathy Fogarty Works Hard for Families
Rhode Island Families are better off because Kathy Fogarty is in the State House. Let's hope she's re-elected.
As school begins across the state, thousands of elementary school students will benefit from the tireless work of Kathy Fogarty in last year’s legislative session. Hundreds of parents from all over the state spoke up to tell our legislature that we needed their help: our youngest kids were not getting the bare minimum of daily free play recess recommended by the AAP, the CDC and Rhode Island KidsCount.
Kathy Fogarty listened and worked literally until the last night of the legislative session to make sure that Rhode Island kids would be able to play this school year. With the increasing pressure kids have to achieve academically, recess was being pushed out and Kathy listened to parents and worked hard to ‘level the playing field’ around the state.
I worked closely with her on the free play recess bill and am grateful for her tenacity, her honesty and her willingness to put herself out there in service for Rhode Island families. Families in Rhode Island are better off because Kathy holds a seat at the state house and I hope that District 35 will send her back to the House of Representatives in January.
