Keep On 'Keepin'-On'!

It is, it seems, that, frequently, when one finds, that, he or she wishes to make, some, sort of, change in his/her life, one, typically, attempts TOO much, at once, and, therefore, can become 'overwhelmed', with, consequent, 'failure' the result. Once this occurs, one is much, less-likely, to endeavor said 'change' again, or at least...not in any, time soon. Over the years, I have discovered, that, often, 'baby-steps' are the way to go, rather than to take one, GREAT-leap, toward a goal; with this true of anything, from weight-loss to the desire of altering personal-behavior(s). The, most, important, aspect of working toward 'modification' of any, type, is to have a goal in mind, and, to work toward that, 'end' every day. Not unlike the New Year's Resolution(s) one makes, each, year, if in fact he/she subscribes to this, tradition, ANY, desire to enact change in one's-life begins with the thought of doing so. Beyond that, it's a matter of perseverance, will-power and, want for the hoped-for, 'end-result'. Staying 'vigilant' is the key to success, with the understanding, also, for our 'humanness', which, will 'factor-in' the reality, that, we may 'mess-up' on occasion. When this happens, it is, sometimes, 'tempting' to quit', or, fall back on old, patterns of action, rather than to 'get back on that horse', if ya' know what I mean? The good news is that life offers us the chance to make change in every moment in which we are fortunate to be here. One needn't wait for the New Year's approach to try something new, for one can have a 'change of heart' about him or herself ANY time, set a goal, and, work toward completing it, 365 a year. It is, quite, satisfying to accomplish a goal we set for ourselves, for it takes a great, amount of self-control and strength of character for this to manifest. I feel, that, it is important to take a certain, amount of pride in the 'fruits of one's labor'...to give one's-self a 'pat on the back', as it were, as this is as encouraging as are accolades 'paid' to us by any other. Being one's own 'cheer-leader' in one's own 'race' is 'part and parcel' to a successful 'win'! Just Sayin'...
