Kid-Friendly Fun: Adventureland and Town Beach

Looking for ways to beat the heat this summer, and to keep those kids entertained? While the following suggestions should be obvious for any Narragansett resident, we realize some of you reading this are out-of-towners. Plus, in the haze of the summer, it's easy to forget options like:

  • Narragansett Town Beach

The beach is a perfect remedy for a hot, sunny and humid day. Don't forget to pack the sunscreen and the snacks. Bring the kids, bring the hubby or just go by yourself for a day of relaxing in the sun and playing in the waves at .

With parking on-site, there is no need to worry about a long walk and finding bathrooms, provided you get there early enough to find a spot. They have pavilions right on the beach with bathrooms, a first aid station and concessions. 

For more information visit www.​narragansettri.​com/​parks/​beach.​htm or call 401-782-0658. Admission is $5 a person, and parking is $8 on weekdays and $10 on weekends. Even with the increase in prices and the crowds, it's something you should experience at least once a year.

  • Adventureland

Head to , right off of Route 108 and Point Judith Road, to spend an afternoon, evening or even the whole day. With go-carts, bumper cars, bumper boats, miniature golf, batting cages and a brand new carousel, there is something to entertain everyone. Adventureland is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, weather permitting. 

Visitors can either pay per activity or purchase a combination ticket, which allows them to participate in each activity once.
