Larkin Pond Association Beach in Kingston Closed For Swimming

Bacteria counts in the pond are at unsafe levels, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Larkin Pond Association Beach in South Kingstown has closed for swimming, state health officials said Thursday evening.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommended the closure because of high bacteria levels making it unsafe to swim.

RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
