NARRAGANSETT, RI— As Winter Storm Stella slips into the history book, the National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement. warning Rhode Islanders that travel may still be treacherous.

The headline is "Slippery Conditions Return Overnight...

"Although the bulk of the snowfall has ceased, a combination of light snow, sleet and rain will linger across the area. Any locations above freezing are expected to drop back below freezing later tonight and remain there through tomorrow morning.

"This will lead to continued slippery conditions on untreated area roadways and walkways. Please drive carefully and allow extra time if traveling overnight or early morning.

"Then on Wednesday, there's a chance of snow showers, mainly between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. West wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
