Local Nonprofit Offers Scholarships
GFWC Women's Club of South County Accepting Scholarship Applications through April 2
The GFWC Women's Club of South County (WCSC) is accepting applications for its scholarships through April 2, 2018. To qualify, an applicant must be a woman, a resident of Washington County with a high school diploma or GED, and at least nineteen years old as of April 2, 2018. She must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited educational program leading to a degree (associate or bachelor’s) or a technical program leading to a certificate. The applicant must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to an applicant who is the primary support for herself or herself and dependents. Dependents may include children, spouse, partner, siblings, and/or parents.
The GFWC WCSC Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to support the continuing education of Washington County women. The Club will award scholarships by mid-May 2018. Scholarship amounts may vary from year-to-year. Multiple recipient awards may be given annually. The GFWC WCSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization devoted to helping people in need in our community through scholarships and the support of other nonprofit groups in the areas of the Arts, Conservation, Education, and Social Services.
