Local Nonprofit Offers Scholarships
Funds Available for Women Seeking to Enhance Their Careers
The GFWC Women’s Club of South County (WCSC) is accepting applications for its scholarships through April 2, 2018. To qualify, an applicant must be a woman and a resident of Washington County with a high school diploma or GED, at least nineteen years old as of April 2, and enrolled in or accepted in an accredited educational problem leading to a degree (associate or bachelors) on in a technical program leading to a certificate required to practice a career or vocation. The applicant must also be able to demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to an applicant who is the primary support for herself or herself and dependents. Dependents may include children, spouse, partner, siblings, and/or parents
The WCSC Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 to support the continuing education of South County Women. The Club awards scholarships each year. The WCSC is a 501 (c)(3) (nonprofit) membership organization devoted to helping people in need in our community through scholarships and the support of other nonprofit groups in the areas of the Arts, Conservation, Education, and Social Services.
