Lock Up Your Bikes, South Kingstown Police Warn Residents
There has been an uptick in bicycle thefts in South Kingstown recently, police said.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Police are warning residents to always lock their bikes following a rash of thefts in the area. Most of the reported thefts have been near the bike path, police said.
"We are experiencing a larger than usual number of bicycle theft complaints," the department said. "Secure your bike properly with a lock to avoid being an easy target."
To safely and securely lock a bike, thread the cable through both wheels. Connect U-locks to bike racks at the center of the frame and through a wheel if possible.
