Man Crashes Into Taylor Swift's Watch Hill Home Following Chase

Shykeim Lewis, 19, is facing several charges after crashing into Taylor's Watch Hill house early Tuesday morning.

WESTERLY, RI — A Connecticut man is facing charges after he crashed into Taylor Swift's Watch Hill property early Tuesday morning. The driver and two other passengers were injured in the crash that followed a high-speed chase.

According to The Westerly Sun, the chase started around 1 a.m. on Main Street in Hopkinton near the Ashaway Post Office. Police attempted to pull over the driver, Shykeim Lewis, 19, of Hartford, who was driving without a license plate on his car. The officer followed the car into Westerly, where he tried to get out and talk to Lewis. Lewis then drove away at a high speed, heading towards downtown Westerly, The Westerly Sun continued.

Police continued to chase Lewis into Watch Hill at a high speed until they reached Swift's Bluff Avenue home, The Westerly Sun continued. Lewis hit the property's white exterior wall, sliding into the front gate.

Lewis and two other teenage passengers were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. A third passenger ran away from the scene but was later found by police.

Lewis was arraigned in Third Division District Court in Wakefield on Tuesday. for charges of reckless driving, driving with a suspended or denied license, receiving stolen goods and obstructing an officer.
