Multiple Crews Called To Narragansett Industrial Fire

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Multiple fire crews are at the scene of a fire on Celestial Drive in Narragansett. Fire crews from around the state were called in to assist in the firefighting effort and help cover the Narragansett fire station.

According to the Narragansett Fire Department, the building is in the industrial part of town and is not believed to be a residence. The exact number of departments that had been called in for mutual aid could not be confirmed on Thursday evening. As of 8 p.m., the department said the scene was still very active.

Video from the scene shows thick, black smoke billowing out of the building.

WPRI reported that officials on the scene said no one was injured but several vehicles and various equipment inside the building were damaged.

William Perry, the president of the East Greenwich firefighter's union, said one of the town's fire trucks and an ambulance were on the scene of the three-alarm fire.
