Narragansett Man Killed Friday In Georgetown Crash: MA State Police

Paul Girard, 67, of Narragansett, was killed in a crash Friday in Georgetown, Mass., state police said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A Narragansett man died Friday afternoon after a crash on I-95 in Georgetown, Mass., the Massachusetts State Police said Saturday.

Paul Girard, 67, died when his car veered into the breakdown lane and crashed into a tree. His passenger, a 63-year-old woman, was seriously injured. Her name has not been released. Rescue workers took her to the Anna Jacques Hospital.

The cause of the crash, which happened around 2:30 p.m., is still under investigation, state police said. The preliminary investigation indicated Girard lost control of the car, but the reason is unknown.
