Narragansett Police Accepting Applications For Citizens Academy
Applications must be submitted to the Narragansett Police Station no later than September 23.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — The Narragansett Police Department is currently accepting applications for its upcoming citizens police academy. Anyone interested in learning more about local law enforcement is encouraged to apply.
The academy will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning October 2, ending with a graduation ceremony on December 5. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the North Beach Clubhouse at 79 Boston Neck Road.
Over the course of the academy, officers will use a combination to field demonstrations and classroom discussions to teach the public about patrol operations, DUI and drug investigations, crime scene investigations, traffic stops, criminal law, use of force and K-9 officers. Students will also have a chance to tour the Narragansett Police Station.

Applications are available online and can be submitted in person, by mail or via email to rmcgovern@narragansettri.gov. Mail applications should be sent to 40 Caswell St., Narragansett, RI 02882, ATTN: Sergeant McGovern. More information is available on the department's website.
