Narragansett Restaurant Week is Here
The week, which runs from March 25 to April 3, kicked off with a party at the Towers last night.
Narragansett Restaurant Week 2011 kicked off last night with a sold out event at the Towers. The party, sponsored by the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce and SO Rhode Island Magazine, was also a fundraiser to benefit the Jonnycake Center Food Pantry. Ten local restaurants brought samples of their wares for the guests to try and live music was provided by a Buddy Holley tribute band.
The week runs from March 25 to April 3, and all of the participating restaurants will be offering either three-course lunches or dinners (or in some cases both) for a fixed price. It is an open invitation to visit and explore establishments that you may not have tried before. Newport and Providence are also hosting restaurant weeks during the same time.
At the kickoff party, the crowds lined up shoulder-to-shoulder to grab dishes that included Lobster Mac & Cheese, Tortellini Carbonara, Pulled Pork, Pan seared Scallops, Calzones and several soups. The restaurants represented were Arturo Joe’s, Casey’s Grille and Bar, Coast Guard House, George’s of Galilee, Mariner Grille, Markos Kabob and More, Nana’s Gelato, Narragansett Grill, Rhody Joe’s Saloon and Trio.
