National Weather Service Says A Foot of Snow Could Fall Saturday and into Saturday Night

NEWPORT, RI — A winter storm warning is in effect, and accumulations between 5 and 9 inches are possible on Saturday

Most of the snow is expected to start after 9 a.m. and could be heavy at times, with blowing snow after noon. The high temperature is supposed to be near 28.

The north wind will increase to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon.
