KINGSTON, RI — The University of Rhode Island's newest residence hall is set to officially open later this month. Brookside Hall is 203,000 square feet and will accommodate 500 students, the university said.

The $94 million hall boasts a cafe that is open to all students and full kitchens and living rooms for residences, as well as a landscaped sitting area around White Horn Brook, which has been restored. It is located near the recently opened URI Bike Spur, which connects to Wakefield, Peace Dale and Narragansett.

The university will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new residence hall at 11 a.m. on Monday. This is the first new residence hall to open on campus since Hillside Hall debuted in October 2012.
